But... hills that high? REALLY? I know, this is artistic licence and fantasy word, but still... I've just spent whole day on high heels (no to high as your crusader's!) and I can't feel my legs... But hey, she's tough, she can kill Diablo and every other monster on spike heels and looks awesome at the same time
This is wonderful, I love her pose and calm expression on her face. The details on everything, especially her clothing is amazing. You worked hard on this piece and it payed off. Congratulations for being a Semi Finalist in the Diablo III contest.
One of the best storytelling among the semi-finalist all the other but for too feel too clustered, this tells a story ^^ And the background actually makes me think about diablo I, which is awesome. Props for being loyal to the gothic aspect of the first game. Only comment I could possibly make would be about her hair, I'm unsure if shes removing or putting it on, and might I suggest, removing it, with strains of hair going everywhere, might be more dynamic?
Both piece have the advantage of looking like a still from a movie, I feel like I could just press play and witness a story unfold
Yours win in my mind because you seem to have a better understanding of lights and shadows, at least judging from just these artworks. There's even some atmospheric effect with the chandelier, the air looks thick with dust particles. Which overall adds a lot of depth to your artwork
I hope you win ^^ I really think you should. All the other pieces have their merites, but 90% of them feel like "showing off detailing skills" artworks... which is not all that hard, creating an harmony between details, shapes, shadows and light to focus the viewers eyes, to have that kind of control on someone you'll never meet, that's skill ^^
